Dua’s List: 5 Films To Watch Right Now

Dua’s List: 5 Films To Watch Right Now

At Service95 this week, we’ve got an interview with director Lynzy Billing about her compelling documentary Long Night, which follows the raw and intimate stories of Afghan healthcare workers and their patients.

It got me thinking about how many powerful films and series are coming out right now, including Last Swim by Sasha Nathwani – a coming-of-age story following a British-Iranian A-level student who confronts a life-changing diagnosis. Lead actor Deba Hekmat delivers a stellar performance, and we’ve also got a fun video interview full of her cultural recommendations for today’s issue.

It’s so exciting to see so many different narratives and important stories being told through film. Here’s a little list of some of my favourite movies – if you haven’t seen them, they’re well worth a watch!

Sexy Beast

A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints

25th Hour

Notting Hill

La Grande Bellezza

Oh, and since it’s Stress Awareness Month, we’ve rounded up a few things that might help take the edge off when life gets a bit much – because we could all do with a moment of calm now and then, right?

Love,

Dua x
