Good Wine, Great Conversation, Tarot Readings & More: Inside Service95’s Big New York Night Out

Good Wine, Great Conversation, Tarot Readings & More: Inside Service95’s Big New York Night Out

By day, a quick glance through the double-height windows of New York bakery L’Appartement 4F will reveal a glass counter stacked with freshly baked pastries; still-warm baguettes piled on the marble shelf to the right. By night, you’ll see the space transform into L’Apéro: the croissants and coffee swapped for pillowy fresh sourdough, small plates and natural wine. But no matter what time of day you choose to visit, you’ll likely encounter a queue snaking through the doors and down the block. Especially if you passed by the crowd lined up outside last week. While the baked goods were certainly a draw, our readers were really there for the start of a memorable Service95 evening.

Yes, we brought together 40 members of our New York community to our favourite Brooklyn Heights spot for an evening of drinks, snacks and great conversation. (You might have seen the invitation in our weekly newsletter – keep an eye out for more of those, FYI) There was also a tarot reader on hand for anyone who fancied a reading, plus we had piles of Dua’s Monthly Reads for guests to browse through and take home. And of course, the conversation was flowing – we swapped recommendations for everything from what to read next to our favourite New York restaurants. And, for those who couldn’t make it, don’t worry – we’ve gathered our community’s top recommendations for you right here...

For coffee or a day date, try...Cafe Regular (Park Slope), Anaïs (Greenpoint), Silence Please (Lower East Side), Thea (Fort Greene), Eavesdrop (Greenpoint)
